Our partner in Namibia
Our partner in Namibia is Gunther Dressel - a farmer and hunter. He was born in the year 1954, now managing the farm since 1980. Gunther is married to Irene, called Reni. Irene takes care for the house and for their three daughters.
The employees are from the tribe of the San Bushmen. Two of them are excellent in searching trails. They live with their families on the farms ground.
The farm
In the North, along the way to the Etosha-pan, you will find our hunting farm Hairabib (Hyene Hiet) with an area of 7.000 ha. Hairabib is a part of the Ngarangombe Conservancy, a union of farms with the total area of 200.000 ha.
Our area consists of Savannah-Steppe, fenced in meadows, various waterholes for our game and our cattle. On Hairabib, interesting hunting- and photo safaris in unspoilt nature will please you.
Where
Hairabib is situated in the northern part of Namibia, about 450 km away from Windhoek on the way to the Etosha-pan, east of Otavi and south of Grootfontein.
Our cooperation partner in Namibia personally pick you up at the Windhoek airport. Alternatively, you may - at your own expense - travel to our place with a rented car or by flight connection to Grootfontein.

Philosophy
The hunting for trophies is regulated by a code of hunting appropriate to the game, following the principles of the German ethics of hunting and the law of Namibia.
We proceed according to the principles of selective hunting and sustainable use. The result is that the stock of game consists of mostly strong trophies.
Hunting ground
The hunting ground of our farm extends over 7000 ha. We hunt free roaming game on Hairabib. Additional, we are a member of the ring of preservation. For that reason, we hunt on a total area of 200.000 ha. Savannah, grass, bushes and an old tree population cover the whole area. The terrain is, for the aged hunter too, easy to walk on.
The farm is situated in the center of the Eland region; because of the vegetation, the Eland antelopes migrate regularly into our area for grazing. For the time of drought, various waterholes are available for the game.
Hunting
Because of our selective and sustainable hunting, we have a strong and healthy stock of game. This is also shown from our very positive statistics of Eland 75% gold, Kudu 55% gold and Warthog 70% gold trophies. In order to guarantee our hunters the best care, we only offer hunting guidance in the relation 1-1 or 1-2. At the time of stalking, we are accompanied by our trail-reader from the tribe of the San Bushmen.
In additional to the hunting with firearms we also offer bow hunting. The shot game will be processed on our farm for private consumption.
Arms
You can import to Namibia your own rifles, shotguns and arrows. The police will give the permission at the time of entrance. Revolver, pistols, and self-loading guns are not allowed.
The muzzle-energy is fixed by law, in the following way:
- 2700 joule for Eland, Gnu, Oryx, Kudu etc. - 1350 joule for Springbuck and smaller species.
Alternatively, you can hire weapons (30.06 or 375 HH Magnum) for € 20.00 per rifle per day and € 5.00 per shot. As a professional hunter and member of the professional organization NHPHA, Our partner put focus on security. That's why the weapons are examined upon their arrival, and they are callibrated at the shooting range of the house. He will always be available for your help.
Activities
Hairabib offers you tranquility, hardly ever found in our hectic time. Enjoy on our area of 7.000 ha the game within its familiar environment, the Savannah, and a varied world of birds (398 species in Namibia) which invite to observe and to take photographs. Observations of game, safaris to take photos and the spectacular colours of the sunset remain unforgettable experiences. Beside this, you can keep yourself fit by jogging, swimming and trap shooting. There is also the possibility to enrich your stay by excursions to national parks as well as the Etosha-pan or the Waterberg-Plateau. About 20 km away from our farm, there is the Hoba Meteorite, a colossus of 50 tons of nickel and iron ore. Its age is estimated at 100 - 300 millions years. An excursion to the nearby Khaudum-game Park gives you the opportunity to experience the San population and their hard every day live. The rock drawings in the Ghaub caves near Otavi will show you the relation between man and animal in an impressive way. To complete your stay in Namibia you can also make an excursion to Swakopmund. There you will find the Atlantic Ocean with an opportunity to fish with a fishing rod, to engage in activities at the beach, and make excursions to Cape Cross with one of the biggest colonies of seals.
Besides the nature, you will find for your entertainment a gambling casino, coffee shops, restaurants, breweries and various opportunities for sports.
